Cuban born and raised in Los Angeles, I have been
involved in the exciting dance of Salsa for 12 years. I grew up
with the great Salsa sounds of Celia Cruz and others always playing
on the home record player. I started my Salsa dancing education with
L.A.’s best Salsa instructor Hollie Lee and served my apprenticeship
as her assistant for 5 years. My teaching style is based on proper
technique, style and timing, but most of all having fun with the
music and dance. The style I teach is L.A. style Salsa "On One.” A
fancy style of Salsa that involves plenty of tricks and turns.
I have also trained with many great L.A. Salsa instructors and learned
their own individual style of dancing and teaching Salsa including:
William Ochoa
Miguel Aguirre
Juan Gil
Marco Antonio
Jesus Morales
Bob Elias
Stewart Kline and Sarai Farrant of “Rueda Madness”
Raul Falcon
Miguel Zarate & Kat Gannon-Negrete
Sergio "El Flako" Rojas
Alex Caicedo
Alejandro Rey & Sabrina Fair (Bachata)
Edie "The Salsa Freak"
Plus a few others.
I have been teaching Salsa privately for 7 years
with over 550 private lessons taught and at least that many
group classes while teaching for Body Groove Dance Fitness since early
2004. I have choreographed various Salsa performances and also
performed with the Body Groove Dance Team. I have learned and teach
various other Latin dances including Cha-Cha-Cha, Bachata, Merengue. I’m also a self trained
Percussionist who loves playing the different Tumbao rhythms which is
the driving beat of Salsa music. My love and passion of the music
and dance is what keeps me excited about Salsa and it’s that passion
and excitement that I try to teach my students.

See you on the dance floor!!!
