Cuban born and raised in Los Angeles, I have been
involved in the exciting dance of Salsa for over 13 years. I grew up
with the great Salsa sounds of Celia Cruz and others always playing
on the home record player. I started my Salsa dancing education in
1998 with
L.A.’s best Salsa instructor Hollie Lee and served my apprenticeship
as her assistant for 5 years. My teaching style is based on proper
technique, style and timing, but most of all having fun with the
music and dance. The style I teach is L.A. style Salsa "On One.” A
fancy style of Salsa that involves plenty of tricks and turns.
I have also trained with many great L.A. Salsa instructors and learned
their own individual style of dancing and teaching Salsa including:
William Ochoa
Miguel Aguirre
Juan Gil
Marco Antonio
Jesus Morales
Bob Elias
Stewart Kline and Sarai Farrant of “Rueda Madness”
Raul Falcon
Miguel Zarate & Kat Gannon-Negrete
Sergio "El Flako" Rojas
Alex Caicedo
Alejandro Rey & Sabrina Fair (Bachata)
Edie "The Salsa Freak"
Plus a few others.
I am a full time dance instructor and have been
teaching Salsa privately for over 9 years with over 800 private
lessons taught. I am the Salsa instructor for Bodygroove Dance
Fitness and have taught thousands of group lessons since early 2004
at the City of Burbank's McCambridge Recreation Center and Garri
Dance Studio. I have choreographed Salsa & Bachata performances for
Bodygroove Dance Fitness, weddings, corporate events and birthday &
holiday parties. Our choreographies have been performed at the Alex
Theater in Glendale as well as the City of Burbank's Spring Fling
Show. My teaching experience ranges from a one on one private lesson
to 800 women at a private event at Sportsmen's Lodge. My private
clients range from every day folks to Hollywood celebrities and from
land to sea aboard the Carnival Splendor cruise ship where I taught
a workshop. I have performed in private events and with the Body
Groove Dance Team and just completed a promotional video and photo
shoot for Habana Brand Clothing. I teach various other Latin dances
including Cha-Cha-Cha, Bachata, Merengue. My love and passion of the
music and dance is what keeps me excited about Salsa and it’s that
passion and excitement that I try to teach my students.

See you on the dance floor!!!
